POLICIES AND PAYMENT TERMS

By hiring Rolling Shutter Productions, you agree to the following terms and policies. Depending on the project type or scope, a contract may be required to confirm your booking.

Invoicing: Payment is expected by the due date listed on the invoice, typically two weeks from receipt.
- Travel Fee: A travel fee will apply for projects located more than 50 miles from the Lakes Region of NH.
- Late Fees: Late fees may be applied to any project with payments received more than two weeks past the listed due date. The fee amount is based on the scope of work and the length of the payment delay.
Deposits: For larger projects or depending on scope, a deposit of 25–50% may be required to secure your booking. Certain projects may also require a formal contract at our discretion. This is standard for Weddings, Events, and similar projects within that scope. For shoots scheduled more than one month in advance, the deposit is expected no later than halfway between the booking date and the project date. Smaller projects (such as Real Estate shoots) typically do not require a deposit.
- Note: All deposits are applied toward the total project cost and deducted from the final payment.
Refunds: Refunds are only applicable for projects canceled at least 72 hours prior to a shoot that required a deposit, or similar projects within that scope of work. This policy does not apply to Weddings or projects requiring extensive travel (over two hours from the Lakes Region of NH, including hotel or flight arrangements).
Cancellations: Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled shoot. Deposits for canceled projects will be retained if notice is provided after this window. For smaller projects without deposits, cancellations are generally not penalized unless we have turned down other work to accommodate the booking, in which case a partial payment may be requested for time reserved.
- Weather Policy: Rescheduling due to weather is understandable within reason and will be accommodated, where possible, without requiring a cancellation fee.
Last Minute Requests: Projects requested within 24–72 hours are subject to an expedited service fee, determined by the nature and scope of the project, typically ranging from $100–$500.
Turnaround Time: Typical turnaround for edited projects is up to two weeks from the shoot date, though this may vary depending on scope and complexity. Weddings generally have a longer turnaround of up to two months, while Real Estate projects are often completed within one week.
Video Editing: Video Editing is billed hourly, and timing is flexible depending on when the project is planned to go live. Rough drafts are for reviewing vision and direction, and not considered finalized content. Once a project is considered complete by both parties, any additional changes are limited to two more revision sessions at the hourly rate. This applies to general video projects like YouTube editing, Independent Films, and Brand work, but it does not reflect Weddings or Real Estate shoots.
File Delivery: Raw files are not provided for edited projects, as final edits reflect professional and artistic work, including color grading, lighting adjustments, and composition. Any completed files (or raw files when editing is not included in the service) will remain accessible via download link (such as Google Drive or Dropbox) for up to two months after delivery, unless replaced by subsequent projects from the same client. After that period, long term file storage is not guaranteed.
Revisions and Additional Files: Upon delivery, a two month grace period is provided for any additional edits or extra file copies at no extra cost, as long as the project has not exceeded two rounds of revisions. Any revision sessions beyond two sessions will incur an additional charge.
Copyright Usage: We retain copyright for all work and may use it for promotion or in other projects. If clients prefer their work not be used publicly, we will respect reasonable requests and refrain from using it for promotion.
- Printing Rights: Clients do not receive copyright ownership of photos. A printed use permission form can be provided for $100, granting rights to have photos printed or reproduced by a third party.
